Through decades of experience, LIFT has found that pooling resources leads to more coherent, coordinated, and impactful programmes for both the people of Myanmar and donors, as interventions are more cost-effective and results are amplified.

LIFT’s governance model prioritises joint decision-making, donor guidance, and partner accountability and coordination, while safeguarding flexibility, risk mitigation, and development integrity in a challenging context. LIFT is committed to ensuring funds are administered with the highest standards by promoting accountability and zero tolerance for fraud or corruption.

Donors

LIFT’s donors gather annually, and its Fund Board meets quarterly. As LIFT’s central governance body, the Fund Board is responsible for strategic oversight and high-level performance reviews.

Fund Management Office

The Fund Management Office, led by the Fund Director, is responsible for LIFT’s day-to-day operations. LIFT is managed in accordance with the administrative, fiduciary, and compliance policies and guidelines of the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS). Working to ensure both LIFT itself and partners uphold the highest standards.

Partners

LIFT projects are implemented by partners, including civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the private sector, and academic and research institutions. Partners are selected in accordance with UNOPS rules and regulations.

New programmes and projects are designed through a consultative process to ensure the incorporation of key priorities and approaches.
