LIFT is governed by a Donor Consortium, guided by a Fund Board composed of international rural development experts from donor organisations, and managed by an experienced Fund Management Office (FMO). The FMO consists of local and international rural development specialists who closely monitor all projects and provide guidance and technical training to partners. The FMO works through partnerships with the UN, national entities, local and international non-Governmental organisations, civil society organisations, the private sector, research and academia. Programmes are designed and projects are selected according to a widely consulted strategy, set by the LIFT donors. Funds are pooled and provided through LIFT’s programmes. Implementing partners are consulted, and issued with a call for proposals for projects.
