On 30th March 2015, LIFT conducted a workshop on Agriculture Extension and Farm Advisory Services in Myanmar, with 80 participants from partner organisations, the private sector and government.
LIFT funds a number of projects that deliver agricultural extension services to farmers, using a range of different approaches. In order to make future investments effective, LIFT recognises the importance of reviewing these interventions: which approaches have been successful? Which should be scaled-up? What new approaches can be explored? What kind of linkages with public and private service providers should be promoted?
AFC Consulting International conducted a LIFT-funded qualitative study of public and private interventions in extension and farm advisory services in Myanmar to answer these and other questions. Preliminary findings were presented at the workshop.
Presentations from the workshop follow below:
-
Study on Gender Aspects in Extension Advisory Services by Heather Morris (AFC Consultant)
-
Linkages between Education, Research and Extension Services by Aung Kyaw Phyo (AFC Consultant)
