LIFT is governed by a Donor Consortium, guided by a Fund Board composed of international rural development experts from donor organisations, and managed by an experienced Fund Management Office (FMO). The FMO consists of local and international rural development specialists who closely monitor all projects and provide guidance and technical training to partners. The FMO works through partnerships with the UN, Government entities, local and international non-Governmental organisations, civil society organisations, the private sector, research and academia. Programmes are designed and projects are selected according to a widely consulted strategy, set by the LIFT donors. Funds are pooled and provided through LIFT’s programmes. Implementing partners are consulted, and issued with a call for proposals for projects.
- Meet once per annum
- Approves the LIFT Strategy
- Selects the executive members of the Fund Board
- Conducts periodic reviews of LIFT
- Meets formally three times per annum
- Provides leadership for LIFT with a focus on strategy, funding decisions and coordination of stakeholders
- Reviews performance of the Fund Management Office
- MOU with MoPF
- Provides effective, transparent and efficient management of LIFT
- Responsibilities include (a) administers funds, (b) monitor and audit projects, (c) measure LIFT’s collective impact, (d) report to stakeholders
- MOUs with relevant government ministries / departments
- Implements projects in line with LIFT operational guidelines
- Abides by fraud and beneficiary accountability policies.
