With funding from LIFT and Danida, our partner Gret held a photo workshop in the Delta town of Bogale for farmers and staff to encourage them to illustrate their views and concerns.  Fourteen remarkable stories emerged, showing not only thoughtful insight into people's lives, but exceptional talent from often first-time photographers. The stories profile the  trials, tribulations and everyday grind for some of the people whose lives are touched by LIFT.

These intimate portraits focus on 'bouk' or casual labourers, on the life of a young bouk, on organic farming, and a widow farmer. Two stories profile the elderly, one tells a great love story,  another tells a young teacher's tale. Watch a day in the life of one family, an eel trapper's story and the story of an eel trap maker. The problem of rubbish on the Bogale River also features.

Thanks to Gret for sharing this work.  All stories feature on this playlist on LIFT's YouTube channel - each and every one merits a view.
