After signing the agreements, the Ambassador said: “Denmark is pleased to contribute
to improving the livelihoods and health for the Myanmar population. Denmark has
doubled its assistance to Myanmar in 2012 and a further increase of 30 percent in 2013. Denmark plans to open an embassy office in Yangon in the near future”

This further involvement in the areas of health, livelihood and food security will help
the poor and disadvantaged people of Myanmar by improving basic livelihoods and
eradicate poverty and thereby support Myanmar’s efforts to meet the UN’s Millennium Development Goals.
